Blockchain technologies in the agriculture and food sectors were the focus of the DL Tech Up webinar held on 29.08.2023. It was attended by participants from the DL Tech Up accelerator program, as well as participants from other small and medium-sized enterprises, NGOs and interested parties.
The principles of blockchain technology and opportunities for its application in the production of agricultural products were presented by Alexander Brestnički – an IT expert actively involved in blockchain technologies. Associate Professor Bozhin Bozhinov from the Agrarian University – Plovdiv examined the topic of the application of blockchain in the chain of processing – trade of agricultural products. He presented examples with food supply chains and the opportunities that are opened up by implementing blockchain systems and their importance for the food industry. The participants were interested in how blockchain changes business and how users benefit in practice from the information guaranteed by blockchain.
The webinar was part of the activities of the project “Accelerating the adoption of blockchain technologies” with the acronym “DL Tech Up” and provides important support for the participants of the accelerator program on their way to the development of their business ideas. It was organized by Business Incubator – Gotse Delchev under a contract with the National Mountain Milk Association, a project partner.
