European Institute for Local Development
Founded in 2009, the European Institute for Local Development (EILD) is an independent non-governmental organization. Our members are European citizens and organizations dedicated to supporting regional development activities and fostering transnational collaboration.
Our Organization
EILD maintains a robust local and international network, comprising over 86 members, including organizations, NGOs, social partners, companies, SMEs, municipalities, universities, and local and regional authorities. Our network spans several countries, including Spain, Italy, Armenia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Romania, Turkey, Cyprus, and Bulgaria.
Mission
The mission of the European Institute for Local Development is to provide innovative tools for the sustainability of regions across the EU while promoting experience sharing among its members and partners. EILD is committed to supporting and advancing international cooperation, effective networking, and the progress and growth of EU citizens by offering direct solutions to European needs. Since its inception, EILD has continually grown, asserting its position and promoting its core values at both national and international levels.
Our Activities
EILD coordinates activities and leads programs across Europe through its secretariat based in Greece, supported by European consultants. Our staff consists of policy professionals and consultants experienced in implementing educational programs and regional activities that promote cooperation and sustainable regional development, particularly in remote or hard-to-access areas. We actively participate in and lead global actions and initiatives that contribute to regional development worldwide.

The National Association “Mountain Milk” (NAMM) is dedicated to adapting dairy production and processing to meet the challenges posed by increasing competition and unfavorable business conditions in mountain areas. Our mission includes:
- Facilitating dairy production and processing enterprises to comply with national policies on sustainable agriculture in mountain regions, aligned with European directives for mountain region development.
- Supporting the operation and development of dairy farms and processing companies in mountain areas.
Our core capabilities include:
- Representing and advocating for the interests of our members at the state level, in coordination with state bodies and specialized structures.
- Collecting and providing data and information to our members regarding legal and regulatory requirements, technological standards and innovation, as well as funding opportunities.
- Offering support in the design, development, and management of projects and investment programs related to the preservation of autochthonous animal breeds, specific local milk processing technologies, and pooling funding from EU programs, the State Agricultural Fund, and other relevant sources.
- Establishing a network of local vocational training centers.
- Protecting and certifying products with specific traditional features, including the registration of protected geographic origins and protected names of agricultural products and foods.
- Managing public relations, including media policies and publicity events.
NAMM continues to strive for excellence in supporting the dairy industry in mountain regions, ensuring sustainable development and compliance with modern agricultural standards.
